FRT. DOOR HINGE PIN BREAKAGE INSTALL NEW P/N HINGE

Model and Year: 1987-88 L-CARS

TO: ALL CHEVROLET DEALERS

This bulletin cancels and replaces Dealer Service Bulletin 88-32 (Section 10) dated July, 1987, to increase labor time allowance. All copies of 88-32 should be discarded.

1987-88 Beretta, Corsica's that have been diagnosed as having a broken door hinge pin should be repaired by replacing both of the door hinges on the door of the vehicle that is affected.

New door hinges have been released and are available for these repairs as follows:

Hinge Asm. - Front Door Upper, P/N 10092242-3 (Right - Left) Hinge Asm. - Front Door Lower, P/N 10092244-5 (Right - Left)

The hinge replacement procedure is outlined in the Corsica/Beretta Service Manuals.

While replacing door hinges, the painted surfaces of the door and fender should be protected by tape. The door should be supported during removal and reinstallation by a helper and floor jack, with appropriate protection applied to the lift pad of the jack.

Use Labor Operation:

T1243 Both Hinges, Right Front Door 1.1 Hours T1244 Both Hinges, Left Front Door 1.1 Hours

ADD: Hinge Refinish and Material Allowance G B .4 Hours

Time includes door alignment.
