POOR HEATER PERFORMANCE IN REAR SEAT AREA

POOR HEATER PERFORMANCE

Vehicles Affected: 1987-88 "L" CARS -----------------

Some customers may comment on poor heater performance in the area of the rear seats, mainly the left rear.

If the heater system is operating properly with adequate heat in the front seat area, the problem maybe caused by poor heat/air distribution from the floor heater outlet.

This condition can be improved by replacing the existing floor heater outlet with one of the following new parts.

The breakpoint for vehicles with the new outlet assembly at both assembly plants, is VIN 500,000.

Use applicable labour operation time.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
