FRONT SEAT BELT STAINED BY ACOUSTIC PATCH MATERIAL

SUBJECT: FRONT SEAT BELTS STAINED BY ACOUSTIC PATCH MATERIAL (STAINED SEAT BELTS) REMOVE ACOUSTIC PATCH AND CLEAN AREA

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1987-88 L-CAR

Some 1987-88 "L" Models front seat belts may be stained by acoustic patch sealer. The patch is located above the seat belt retractors.

If owner comments on stained front seat belts are received, the following procedure should be used for both driver and passanger front seat belts, even if only one side has this condition.

1. Remove trim as required to gain access to seat belt retractors.(See Shop Manual)

2. Remove acoustic patch from retractor area and clean area completly of all acoustic patch material on both left and right sides. DO NOT replace acoustic patch.

3. Install new seat belt assembly per instructions in Shop Manual if webbing is stained.

Use the most applicable labour operation from the Canadian Labour Time Guide and claim as follows:

Right Side .6 Hr. plus .1 Hr. per side cleaning Left Side .6 Hr. plus .1 Hr. per side cleaning
