--------- Some 1992 and 1993 Corvettes may have waterleaks at the lower front corners of the rear hatch weatherstrip.
On 1992 vehicles, this condition may result in wet carpeting on the rear load floor, or under the rear stowage tray or moisture in the rear tub area.
On 1993 vehicles (in addition to the items for 1992), water may enter and damage the radio receiver located under the right side removable stowage tray.
----- (A) Vent holes through both walls of the weatherstrip or broken vulcanized joints at lower corners.
(B) The mounting portion of the weatherstrip at the lower corners may not have any sealer in the cavity (See Figure 1).
---------- (A) Replace the weatherstrip assembly.
(B) Add sealer to the weatherstrip using the following procedure:
1. Raise the rear hatch glass to the full open position.
2. Prop glass in up position and disconnect the forward ends of both support tubes.
3. Remove the attaching screws from the lock pillar trim moldings and body opening garnish moldings.
4. Loosen moldings to provide clearance to partially remove the weatherstrip at both lower corners.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
