Install a scan tool and establish communications with the LH door control module.

Does the scan tool communicate with the LDCM?

Go to step 3

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Data Link Communications

  1. With scan tool special functions, display the LDCM inputs.
  2. Monitor the door ajar status.
  3. Open and close the drivers door.

Does the scan tool indicate the door ajar input as open and closed?

Establish scan tool communications with the RH door control module.

Does the scan tool communicate with the RDCM?

  1. With scan tool special functions, display the RDCM inputs.
  2. Monitor the door ajar status.
  3. Open and close the passenger door.

Does the scan tool indicate the door ajar input as open and closed?

Disconnect the door latch connector C2.

Does the scan tool indicate the door ajar input closed?

Connect a fused jumper wire from the door latch connector C2,

    • terminal B to ground.(LDCM)
    • terminal C to ground.(RDCM)

Does the scan tool indicate the door ajar input open?

Connect a fused jumper wire from the door latch connector C2,

    • terminals B to D.(LDCM)
    • terminals C to A.(RDCM)

Does the scan tool indicate the door ajar input open?

Inspect and repair the short to ground in circuit,

    • 745.(LDCM)
    • 746.(RDCM)

If ok replace the DCM. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Inspect and repair the open or high resistance condition in circuit,

    • 745.(LDCM)
    • 746.(RDCM)

If ok replace the DCM. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement .

Repair the open or high resistance condition in circuit 150.

Replace the door latch. Refer to Door Lock Replacement .
