Has the Instrument Cluster Diagnostic System Check been performed?

Go to Step 2

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Instrument Cluster

  1. Disconnect the engine coolant level indicator switch.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

Does the Low Coolant Warning message display on the Driver Information Center?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

Replace the engine coolant level indicator switch. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Instrument Cluster

--

  1. Disconnect the underhood electrical center connector C3 and C2.
  2. Coolant level indicator switch connector still disconnected.
  3. Connect a DMM between terminal D9 of the underhood electrical center connector C3 and ground.
  4. Measure CKT 68 for continuity to ground.

Is CKT 68 continuous to ground?

--

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

Locate and repair a short to ground in CKT 68 between terminal D9 of the underhood electrical center connector C3 and terminal A of the coolant level indicator switch connector.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Instrument Cluster

  1. Disconnect the instrument cluster connector.
  2. Underhood electrical center connector C2 still disconnected.
  3. Connect a DMM between terminal F7 of the underhood electrical center connector C2 and ground.
  4. Measure CKT 68 for continuity to ground.

Is CKT 68 continuous to ground?

--

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 8

Locate and repair a short to ground in CKT 68 between terminal F7 of the underhood electrical center connector C2 and terminal A8 of the instrument cluster connector.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Instrument Cluster

Replace the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
