- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Check ball stud tightness to the knuckle when inspecting the ball
stud.
- Check ball stud tightness in the following manner:
| • | Shake the tire and wheel assembly while feeling for movement of
the stud end at the knuckle |
| • | Visually inspect for an opened-up hole in the knuckle |
- Visually inspect for worn ball studs.
- Visually inspect for damaged ball studs.
- Visually inspect for worn knuckles.
- Visually inspect for damaged knuckles.
- Repair or replace any damaged component.
- Lower the vehicle.
