1. Inspect the ball joint.
2. Replace the ball joint as needed.

The inner or the outer tie rods are binding or bent.

Replace as needed.

Refer to Inner Tie Rod or Rack and Pinion Boot and Breather Tube Replacement - Off Vehicle .

The front wheel alignment.

1. Check the front wheel alignment.
2. Perform front wheel alignment.

Refer to Measuring Wheel Alignment (Front) in Wheel Alignment.

The steering gear is loose.

Torque the steering gear to proper specifications.

Refer to Power Steering Gear Replacement .

The joints from the column to the steering gear is binding.

1. Check for correct torque.
2. Replace the components as needed.

Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.

The plastic boot on the intermediate shaft is out of position.

1. Inspect the plastic boot on the intermediate shaft.
2. Replace if necessary.
