DEFINITION: The wiper motor continues to run after the wiper switch is turned to the OFF position.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Turn the wiper switch OFF.
  3. Disconnect the wiper/washer switch connector C219.

Does the wiper motor keep running?

--

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 3

Replace the wiper/washer switch. Refer to Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Wiper/Washer System Check

  1. Disconnect the wiper motor connector.
  2. Wiper/washer switch connector C219 still disconnected.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  4. Connect a DMM between connector C219 terminal A and ground.
  5. Measure the voltage.

Is the voltage within the specified values?

1 volt or more

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

Repair a short to battery power in CKT 95.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Wiper/Washer System Check

  1. Wiper motor connector still disconnected.
  2. Wiper/washer switch connector C219 still disconnected.
  3. Ignition switch still in the ON position.
  4. Connect a DMM between connector C219 terminal B and ground.
  5. Measure the voltage.

Is the voltage within the specified values?

1 volt or more

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 7

  1. Wiper motor connector still disconnected.
  2. Wiper/washer switch connector C219 still disconnected.
  3. Ignition switch still in the ON position.
  4. Connect a DMM between connector C219 terminal D and ground.
  5. Measure the voltage.

Is the voltage within the specified values?

1 volt or more

Go to Step 9

Repair a short to battery power in CKT 91.

Is the repair complete?

Repair a short to battery power in CKT 92.

Is the repair complete?
