1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Install a scan tool.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
4. Attempt to establish communications with the IPC.

The scan tool is able to communicate properly with the IPC.

Diagnostic System Check - Instrument Cluster .

Use a scan tool, select IPC special functions and activate all chime functions.

The scan tool is able to communicate with the IPC, and able to activate all chime functions.

Instrument Cluster Replacement .

1. Close both the vehicle doors.
2. Seat belts NOT fastened.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

The IPC activates the fasten seat belt chime at a slow rate (60 chimes per minute) for 8 seconds.

Fasten Safety Belt Indicator/Chime Inoperative .

1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Leave the key IN the ignition switch.
3. Open the driver door.

The IPC activates the key in ignition reminder at a medium rate (120 chimes per minute) until the key is removed from the ignition switch.

Key-in-Ignition Chime Inoperative .

1. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
2. Driver door still open.
3. Turn the headlamps or park lamps to the ON position.

The IPC activates the headlamp/park lamp reminder at a fast rate (180 chimes per minute) until the headlamps and/or park lamps are turned OFF.

Headlight System Check .

1. Test drive the vehicle.
2. Turn the RH turn signal ON.
3. Leave the RH turn signal activated and continue to drive the vehicle for over 1.2 km (3/4 mi).

The IPC activates the turn signal reminder at a slow rate (60 chimes per minute) after driving the vehicle over 1.2 km (3/4 mi) until the RH turn signal is turned OFF.

Turn Signal Indicator Inoperative - Right Side .

1. Test drive the vehicle.
2. Turn the LH turn signal ON.
3. Leave the LH turn signal activated and continue to drive the vehicle.

The IPC activates the turn signal reminder at a slow rate (60 chimes per minute) after driving the vehicle over 1.2 km (3/4 mi) until the LH turn signal is turned OFF.

Turn Signal Indicator Inoperative - Left Side .
