Does the scan tool communicate with the IPC?

  1. Turn ON the ignition switch.
  2. Using a scan tool, select IPC data display and monitor fuel remaining.

Is the scan tool able to display fuel remaining?

0-72.3 L (0-19.1 gal)

Use the Fuel Gauge Scan Tool Data Table to compare the IPC fuel remaining display data on the scan tool with the fuel gauge display.

Does the scan tool display correspond with fuel gauge display?

Within 1/8

System OK

Using a scan tool, select PCM data display and monitor fuel tank level remaining.

Is the scan tool able to display fuel tank level remaining?

0-72.3 L (0-19.1 gal)

Go to Step 8

Go to Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check

Replace the IPC assembly. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

Is the replacement complete?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition switch.
  2. Reconnect or install any connectors or components that were disconnected or removed.
  3. Turn ON the ignition switch.
