  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Install a scan tool.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  4. Locate the ambient light sensor on the RH DIC switch and cover the sensor with black tape.
  5. Using a scan tool, select IPC data display and monitor the ambient light sensor data.

Does the scan tool display the ambient light sensor data within the specified value?

0-10 Counts

  1. Turn the headlamps or park lamps ON.
  2. Rotate the dimmer switch clockwise to the full bright position.
  3. Using a scan tool, select IPC data display and monitor the switch dimming data.

Does the scan tool display the switch dimming data within the specified value?

200-255 Counts

  1. Turn the headlamps or park lamps ON.
  2. Ambient light sensor still covered.
  3. Dimmer switch still in the full bright position.
  4. Does the gauge backlighting illuminate?

Does the RH or the LH DIC switch illuminate?

Replace the IPC assembly. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement IP Cluster Replacement.

Is the replacement complete?

Replace the LH or the RH DIC switch assembly that did not illuminate. Refer to Driver Information Display Switch Replacement .

Is the replacement complete?

Replace the LH DIC switch assembly. Refer to Driver Information Display Switch Replacement .

Replace the RH DIC switch assembly. Refer to Driver Information Display Switch Replacement .

  1. Turn OFF the ignition switch.
  2. Reconnect or install any connectors or components that were disconnected or removed.
  3. Turn ON the ignition switch.

Is the repair complete?
