Itch or slight creaking sound from the rear lift window striker.
The rear lift window striker is moving on it's mounting surface.
Road test on a ramp or road that twists the body and listen for the creak.
Rattle by the shoulder belt guide on the lock pillar.
Hook and loop insulators on the belt guide cover are missing allowing the cover to contact the lock pillar trim.
Visually check the underside of the guide cover for the loop insulators.
Install two 12 mm (½ in) loop tape insulators on the underside of the guide cover.
Stowage lid latch rattles on rough roads.
Not enough pressure being applied to the stowage lid latch by the overslam bumpers.
Road test on a rough surface.
Noise from the folding top stowage lid when driving over bumps.
A stick/slip condition exists where the rubber stop bumpers contact the lid.
Clean the stowage lid where the rubber stops contact the lid with a general purpose cleaner.
Install a piece of 3M® Scotch Squeak Reduction Tape P/N 06356, or equivalent, where the bumpers contact the lid.
Slap or rattle from the rear of the vehicle on bumps.
The parking brake cable(s) is/are hitting the rear compartment floor, or the frame rail, outboard of the retaining clamp.
Road test and listen for the slapping sound and/or raise the vehicle and tap on the cables.
Install foam tape to the floor or the frame rail at the point of cable contact.
A Slap or knock from a rear wheel once per wheel revolution during a turn or when the wheel is in a jounce/rebound condition.
The brake cable making contact with the wheel weight once per wheel revolution or when the wheel is in a jounce/rebound condition.
Road test. Then check wheel balance weights and parking brake cable for any evidence of contact.
Adjust length of cable to shorten it slightly by pulling it through the clip on the body.
Squeak or itch from the rear of the vehicle.
The rear body panel bond, in the area of the rear lift window panel tension bumper, rubs the underside of the rear compartment opening surround panel.
Open the rear lift window panel and apply pressure to the side of the surround and listen for a chirp sound.
Add epoxy adhesive GM P/N 12377980, or equivalent, in the area of the hatch surround below the tension bumper to securely bond the underside of the rear corner of the surround to the rear body panel.
Squeak or itch from the rear of the vehicle.
The rear fascia and/or the rear corner of the quarter panel rubs on the rear body panel.
Open the rear lift window panel and apply pressure to the fascia and the rear corner of the quarter panel and listen for an itching sound.
Install a very thin sheet of anti squeak material between the fascia and the rear body panel and under the rear corner of the quarter panel. Can use a wide piece of flocking or felt.
Tapping noise behind the drivers seat.
The fuel door manual release tab contacts the rear compartment acoustic panel.
Visually inspect and manually move the tab checking contact.
Add hook and loop tape or flocked tape to the bottom of the acoustic panel in the area of contact.
An itching or squeaking noise heard on rough road surfaces when the roof lift off panel is stowed away.
The two pieces of plastic that make up the barrel for the pin, need lubrication at the hooks opposite the attaching screws.
Road test the vehicle with the removable top stowed in the rear compartment. Listen for an itching or squeaking noise from the retaining hooks.
Lubricate the contact points at the hooks.
