Retained Accessory Power (RAP) Inoperative Radio and Doors

Has the RAP System Check been performed?

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Display the Diagnostic Circuit Check/Class 2 Message Monitor.

Are the BCM, LDCM, RDCM, and Radio, listed as active?

Go to Step 3

Using the scan tool select the BCM DTC display.

Are any BCM DTCs displayed?

--

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Body Control System

Go to Step 4

  1. Using the scan tool select the BCM input display.
  2. Observe the driver door ajar switch status.
  3. Open and close the drivers door.

Does the switch status indicate open and closed?

--

Go to Step 19

  1. Observe the passenger door ajar switch status.
  2. Open and close the passenger door.

Does the switch status indicate open and closed?

--

Does the scan tool indicate the driver door ajar switch always open?

Does the scan tool indicate the passenger door ajar switch always open?

  1. Disconnect the LDCM connector C1.
  2. Disconnect the BCM connector C2.
  3. Connect a DMM from the BCM connector C2 terminal C2 to ground.
  4. Driver door closed, measure the resistance to ground of circuit 745.

Is the resistance within specified values?

Infinite

Go to Step 19

  1. Disconnect the RDCM connector C1.
  2. Disconnect the BCM connector C2.
  3. Connect a DMM from the BCM connector C2 terminal D1 to ground.
  4. Passenger door closed, measure the resistance to ground of circuit 746.

Is the resistance within specified values?

Infinite

Go to Step 19

Go to Step 11

Inspect and repair the short to ground in circuit 745. If ok replace the driver door latch. Refer to Door Lock Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Inspect and repair the short to ground in circuit 746. If ok replace the passenger door latch. Refer to Door Lock Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the BCM connector C2.
  2. Connect a DMM from connector C2 terminal C2 to ground.
  3. Driver door open, measure the resistance to ground of circuit 745.

Is the resistance within specified values?

0-2 ohms

Go to Step 19

  1. Disconnect the BCM connector C2.
  2. Connect a DMM from connector C2 terminal D1 to ground.
  3. Passenger door open, measure the resistance to ground of circuit 746.

Is the resistance within specified values?

0-2 ohms

  1. Disconnect the drivers door latch connector C2.
  2. Connect a DMM from connector C2 terminal D to ground.
  3. Measure resistance to ground of circuit 150.

Is the resistance within specified values?

0-2 ohms

  1. Disconnect the passenger door latch connector C2.
  2. Connect a DMM from connector C2 terminal D to ground.
  3. Measure resistance to ground of circuit 150.

Is the resistance within specified values?

0-2 ohms

Inspect and repair the open or high resistance in circuit 745. If ok replace the driver door latch. Refer to Door Lock Replacement .

Inspect and repair the open or high resistance in circuit 746. If ok replace the passenger door latch. Refer to Door Lock Replacement .
