RAP Inoperative at Radio Only

DEFINITION: The radio does not operate during the Retained Accessory Power (RAP) period with the doors still closed. Both left and right window still operate normally until a door is opened.

Where you sent here from the RAP Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

  1. Install the scan tool.
  2. Establish communication with the BCM.

Can communication be established with the BCM?

Go to Step 3

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Body Control System

Check for any stored DTCs in the BCM.

Are any DTCs stored within the BCM?

Go to the applicable DTC table

Go to Step 4

  1. Turn the ignition to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the scan tool.
  3. Disconnect the radio (grey) connector C2.
  4. Disconnect the BCM (upper pink) connector C1.
  5. Connect a DMM between the BCM connector C1 terminal B6 and the radio connector C2 terminal 16.
  6. Measure for continuity between these two terminals?

Is continuity present?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

Replace the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Retained Accessory Power (RAP) System Check

  1. Disconnect the bus bar from the Star Connector 1.
  2. Connect a DMM between the Star Connector 1 terminal D and the radio connector C2 terminal 16 .
  3. Measure for continuity between these two terminals.

Is continuity present?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 7

Repair the open in CKT 1044.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Retained Accessory Power (RAP) System Check

Replace the Star Connector 1 bus bar or repair the open at the Star Connector 1.
