Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the roof lift off panel.

  2. Object Number: 63755  Size: SH
  3. Remove the screws from the ends of the weatherstrip.
  4. Remove the weatherstrip by gently pulling the weatherstrip from the retainer.
  5. Clean the surface of old sealant material.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 284765  Size: SH
  1. Apply a 6.0 X 40 mm (0.25 X 1.5 in) bead of sealer the front and to the rear corners of the retainer as shown in the illustration.
  2. • Apply the bead of sealer to the roof.
    • Apply the bead of sealer to the retainer.
    • Apply the bead of sealer to the ends of the retainer.

  3. Peel the protective film from the foam tape on the ends of the new weatherstrip, or install two sided tape to the ends of a reused weatherstrip.
  4. Install the weatherstrip into the retainer using a nylon spatula or your fingers. Start at the forward edge and work rearward.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the screws at the ends of the weatherstrip. Hold the weatherstrip to prevent the weatherstrip from rotating.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the side weatherstrip screws to 3.4 N·m (30 lb in).

  8. Install the roof panel.
