Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear side rail weatherstrip and retainer.
- Drill out the four rivets attaching the top flap to the rear side
rail.
- Raise the flap and drill out the rivet attaching the cable to
the rear side rail.
- Position the top with the number one and number
five bow up.
- Remove the screw attaching the cable end to the number one bow.
- Remove the cable. It may help to remove the spring
from the end of the cable.
Installation Procedure
- Fish the cable through the top pocket.
- Feed the cable through the front corner bracket. It may be necessary
to remove the spring from the cable end to feed the cable through the opening.
- Install the cable with the spring attached to the number one bow.
- Rivet the flag end of the cable to the back side
of the rear side rail.
| 4.1. | Position the flag roll forward. |
| 4.2. | Use a C rivet or a stainless steel pop rivet. |
| 4.3. | Peen the pop rivet head flat to insure that the weatherstrip retainer
will mount flush. |
- Fold the top flap over the rear side rail and rivet it in place.
- Install the rear side rail weatherstrip retainer and the weatherstrip.
