  1. Remove the clutch actuator and bolts (manual transmission).

  2. Object Number: 71452 Size: SH
  3. Remove the flex plate and bolts (automatic transmission).

  4. Object Number: 71469 Size: SH
  5. Remove the access hole plug, if required (automatic transmission).

  6. Object Number: 261007 Size: SH
  7. Remove the bearing housing bolts and washers.

  8. Object Number: 261008 Size: SH
  9. Remove the propeller shaft assembly from the driveline tube.
  10. Remove the O-ring from the front of the driveline tube.
  11. Discard the O-ring.

  12. Object Number: 261012 Size: SH

Important: Do not separate the input shaft, propeller shaft, couplings, or bearing housing assembly (unless required). These components are balanced as an assembly. Disassembly and improper reassembly of the components may cause vehicle driveline vibration.

If the input shaft, couplings, propeller shaft, or bearing housing assembly must be separated, the components must be marked prior to disassembly. During assembly, the components must be returned to their original position and location.

  13. Remove the slinger washer from the input shaft.
  14. Discard the slinger washer.
  15. Remove the snap ring from the input shaft.

  16. Object Number: 261013 Size: SH
  17. Remove the bearing from the input shaft.

  18. Object Number: 261014 Size: SH

Important: Mark the radial relationship of the input shaft to the coupling and coupling to the propeller shaft. Mark the coupling orientation to prevent reversing. The arrow marks on the coupling refer to bolt direction but may not prevent reversing.

  19. Remove the input shaft, bolts, and washers from the front coupling.

  20. Object Number: 261015 Size: SH
  21. Remove the front coupling, bolts, and washers from the propeller shaft.

  22. Object Number: 261393 Size: SH

Important: Mark the radial relationship of the bearing housing to the coupling and the coupling to the propeller shaft. Mark the coupling orientation to prevent reversing. The arrow marks on the coupling refer to bolt direction but may not prevent reversing.

  23. Remove the bearing housing assembly, bolts, and washers from the rear coupling.

  24. Object Number: 261018 Size: SH
  25. Remove the rear coupling, bolts, and washers from the propeller shaft.

  26. Object Number: 261021 Size: SH
  27. Remove the bushing from the hub (automatic transmission).
  28. Discard the bushing.
  29. Mark the bearing housing hub and flexplate spindle to ensure assembly to their original positions.

  30. Object Number: 261023 Size: SH
  31. Remove the bolt, washer, and flexplate spindle from the bearing housing (automatic transmission).

  32. Object Number: 261024 Size: SH
  33. Remove the snap ring (1) from the bearing housing.

  34. Object Number: 261030 Size: SH
  35. Position the bearing housing assembly into a press in order to remove the hub and bearings assembly.

  36. Object Number: 261025 Size: SH
  37. Remove the hub and bearings assembly from the bearing housing.
  38. Remove the O-rings from the bearing housing.

  39. Object Number: 261026 Size: SH
  40. Remove the snap ring and rear bearing from the hub.

  41. Object Number: 261028 Size: SH
