Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 67893  Size: SH
  1. Raise the vehicle and support. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the rear stabilizer shaft bolts, nuts and clamps.
  3. Position the stabilizer shaft downward.

  4. Object Number: 567135  Size: SH
  5. Remove the intermediate exhaust pipe-to-rear exhaust pipe bolts.

  6. Object Number: 64009  Size: SH
  7. Remove the muffler from the muffler hanger.
  8. On the right hand side, remove the following:
  9. 6.1. Muffler hanger
    6.2. Fuel tank shield bolt, nut, and shield
  10. Remove the muffler from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 64009  Size: SH
  1. Install the muffler to the vehicle.
  2. On the right hand side, install the following:
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    2.1. Fuel tank shield, bolt, and nut

    Tighten

        • Tighten the fuel tank shield nut to 12 N·m (106 lb in).
        • Tighten the fuel tank shield bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
    2.2. Muffler hanger

    Tighten
    Tighten the muffler hanger nuts to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  4. Install the muffler to the muffler hanger.

  5. Object Number: 567135  Size: SH
  6. Install the rear exhaust pipe and bolts to the intermediate exhaust pipe.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the intermediate exhaust pipe-to-rear exhaust pipe bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  8. Reposition the rear stabilizer shaft to the crossmember.
  9. Install the rear stabilizer shaft clamps, bolts and nuts. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Replacement in Rear Suspension.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
