  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  2. Turn the ignition switch ON.

Does the brake warning indicator illuminate for 3 to 5 seconds?

  1. Intsall a scan tool.
  2. Display the IPC Data List.
  3. Turn the ignition switch ON.
  4. Apply the parking brake.

Does the scan tool indicate the park brake switch is active?

  1. Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.
  2. With the ignition switch ON Connect a jumper wire from the parking brake switch connector terminal to ground.

Does the brake warning indicator illuminate?

Repair the open or high resistance in circuit 33.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Replace the parking brake switch. Refer to Park Brake Lever Assembly Replacement .

Remove and inspect the instrument cluster brake warning indicator light bulb for an open circuit. If the bulb is OK, replace the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

  1. Disconnect the brake fluid level switch connector.
  2. Connect a jumper wire between the brake fluid level switch connector terminal A and terminal B.
  3. Turn the ignition switch ON.

Does the brake warning indicator illuminate?

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Display the IPC Data List.
  3. With the jumper wire connected between the brake fluid level switch connector terminal A and terminal B.
  4. Turn the ignition switch ON.

Does the scan tool indicate the brake fluid level is LOW?
