1. Disconnect the brake transmission shift lock switch connector.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
3. Attempt to shift the transmission out of PARK.

Does the transmission shift out of park?

1. Disconnect the brake transmission shift lock control solenoid connector.
2. With the ignition switch ON, attempt to shift the transmission out of park.

Does the transmission shift out of park?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

Replace the brake transmission shift lock control solenoid.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 7

Repair the short to voltage in circuit 1135.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 7

Replace the brake transmission shift lock switch.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 7

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
