Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 295310 Size: SH
  1. Remove the IP passenger compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  2. Remove the instrument panel (IP) lower insulator panel - RH. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  3. Remove the vacuum solenoid control valve. Refer to Vacuum Solenoid Control Valve Replacement.
  4. Disconnect the vacuum harness connector from the air inlet vacuum actuator.
  5. Lift to release the air inlet vacuum actuator retaining tab and begin to slide the vacuum actuator toward the outside of the vehicle.
  6. Rotate the air inlet valve lever fully forward (clockwise), to extend the actuator plunger, and hold in place until instructed.

  7. Working through the opening in the passenger SIR bracket, carefully release the vacuum actuator from the HVAC module case mounting pins.
  8. Disconnect the vacuum actuator plunger rod from the air inlet valve lever and remove the vacuum actuator.
  9. Release the air inlet valve lever.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 295315 Size: SH
  1. Rotate the air inlet valve lever fully forward (clockwise) and hold in place until instructed.
  2. Connect the vacuum actuator plunger rod to the air inlet valve lever, then extend the plunger.

    3. Object Number: 295310 Size: SH

    Important: During installation, ensure that the air inlet vacuum actuator retaining tab is positioned ABOVE the mating base on the HVAC module case.

  3. Working through the opening in the passenger SIR bracket, carefully align and engage the air inlet vacuum actuator slots onto the HVAC module case mounting pins.
  4. Check that the vacuum actuator pushrod is not binding on the air inlet valve lever.
  5. Push the vacuum actuator toward the HVAC module case to secure the retaining tab.
  6. Release the air inlet valve lever.
  7. Connect the vacuum harness connector to the air inlet vacuum actuator.
  8. Install the vacuum solenoid control valve. Refer to Vacuum Solenoid Control Valve Replacement.
  9. Install the instrument panel (IP) lower insulator panel - RH. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  10. Install the IP passenger compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
