Were you sent from the Lighting Systems Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Install a scan tool display the BCM Input Data 1.
  2. Monitor the front fog lamp switch status while operating the switch on and off.

Does the scan tool display the switch status as ACTIVE when the switch is pressed?

Inspect the F/TNK DR MiniFuse® #32 for an open.

Is the fuse open?

--

Repair the short to ground in the switch feed circuit 2840. Refer to Power Distribution Schematics in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 20

  1. Disconnect the BCM connector C2.
  2. Connect a test light from the front fog lamp switch signal circuit 192 to ground.
  3. Press the front fog lamp switch.

Does the test light illuminate with the switch pressed?

--

  1. Disconnect the front fog lamp switch connector.
  2. Test and repair the front fog lamp switch signal circuit 192 for an open or high resistance.

Did you find and correct the condition?

  1. Remove the F/TNK DR MiniFuse® #32.
  2. Test and repair the front fog lamp switch feed circuit 2840 for an open or high resistance.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Replace the front fog lamp switch. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Switch Replacement or Fog Lamp Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Does the front fog lamp indicator illuminate when the fog lamp switch is turned on?

Inspect the FOG LP MiniFuse® #6 for an open.

Is the fuse open?

  1. Disconnect the BCM connector C1.
  2. Using a fused jumper wire ground the FOG LP relay #39 control circuit 1317.

Do the front fog lamps illuminate?

  1. Remove the FOG LP Micro Relay #39.
  2. Test and repair the FOG LP relay #39 control circuit 1317 for an open or high resistance.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Replace the FOG LP Micro Relay #39.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the short to ground in the front fog lamp feed circuit 34.

  1. Disconnect an inoperative front fog lamp bulb connector.
  2. Connect a test light from the front fog lamp bulb connector terminal A to ground.

With the front fog lamp switch turned on does the test light illuminate?

Test and repair the bulb ground circuit 150 for an open or high resistance.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Replace the front fog lamp bulbs. Refer to Front Fog Lamp Bulb Replacement .

Repair the open or high resistance in the front fog lamp feed circuit 34.

Replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement and Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration .

Is the repair complete?

  1. Clear any DTCs which may have set. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Clearing .
  2. Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?
