Has the Lighting Systems Diagnostic System Check been performed?

  1. Disconnect the hazard warning switch jumper harness connector C215.
  2. Connect a test light from the C215 harness connector terminal K to ground.
  3. Press the brake pedal.

Does the test light illuminate?

--

Go to Step 4

Repair the open or high resistance in circuit 17.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 11

  1. Connect a fused jumper wire from the C215 harness connector terminals K to J.
  2. Press the brake pedal.

Do the brake lamps illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Test and repair the hazard warning switch jumper harness circuits 17 and 27 for an open or high resistance, if OK replace the hazard warning switch. Refer to Hazard Warning Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 11

  1. Reconnect the hazard warning switch jumper harness connector C215.
  2. Disconnect the multifunction turn signal lever pigtail connector C209.
  3. Connect a test light from the C209 harness connector terminal A to ground.
  4. Press the brake pedal.

Does the test light illuminate?

Repair the open or high resistance in circuit 27.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Connect a fused jumper wire from the C209 harness connector terminals A to B.
  2. Press the brake pedal.

Do the right side brake lamps illuminate?

  1. Connect a fused jumper wire from the C209 harness connector terminals A to C.
  2. Press the brake pedal.

Do the left side brake lamps illuminate?

Replace the multifunction turn signal lever. Refer to Multifunction Turn Signal Lever Replacement - On Vehicle .
