Vanity Mirror Convenience Lamps

Voltage is supplied to the vanity mirror lamps from CKT 640. CKT 640 receives battery voltage when the MONITORED LD Micro Relay #43 has closed its contact switch. The opening and closing of the MONITORED LD Micro Relay #43 is controlled by the BCM through CKT 1393. Whenever the ignition is ON the BCM will ground CKT 1393 and energize the relay which supplies battery positive voltage to CKT 640. Battery voltage is then supplied to the vanity mirror lamps and they become functional. When the ignition is turned OFF the BCM will monitor CKT 640 at the BCM connector C2 terminal C4 for continuity to ground through the vanity mirror lamp and switch assembly. In the event that the a vanity mirror lamp is inadvertently left ON, the BCM will energize the MONITORED LD Micro Relay #43 for approximately 15 minutes then de-energize the relay. This function is used to help prevent the battery from losing voltage over a period of time in the case of a load being left ON. The vanity mirror lamps are grounded by CKT 150 through Splice Pack #202 to G202.

Inside Rearview Mirror Reading Lamps

Voltage is supplied to the inside rearview mirror reading lamps from CKT 640. Battery voltage is then supplied to the inside rearview mirror reading lamps and they becomes functional. When the ignition is turned OFF the BCM will monitor CKT 640 at the BCM connector C2 terminal C4 for continuity to ground through the inside rearview mirror reading lamp and switch assembly. In the event that an inside rearview mirror reading lamp is inadvertently left ON, the BCM will energize the MONITORED LD Micro Relay #43 for approximately 15 minutes then de-energize the relay. This function is used to help prevent the battery from losing voltage over a period of time in the case of a load being left ON. The inside rearview mirror reading lamps are grounded by CKT 150 through Splice Pack #202 to G202.

I/P Compartment Lamp (Glovebox)

Voltage is supplied to the I/P compartment lamp from CKT 640. Battery voltage is then supplied to the I/P compartment lamp and it becomes functional. When the ignition is turned OFF the BCM will monitor CKT 640 at the BCM connector C2 terminal C4 for continuity to ground through the I/P compartment lamp and switch assembly. In the event that the I/P compartment is inadvertently left open, the BCM will energize the MONITORED LD Micro Relay #43 for approximately 15 minutes then de-energize the relay. This function is used to help prevent the battery from losing voltage over a period of time in the case of a load being left ON. The I/P compartment lamp is grounded by CKT 150 through Splice Pack #202 to G202.

Underhood Convenience Lamp

Voltage is supplied to the underhood convenience lamp from CKT 640. Battery voltage is then supplied to the underhood convenience lamp and it becomes functional when the hood is opened. When the ignition is turned OFF the BCM will monitor CKT 640 at the BCM connector C2 terminal C4 for continuity to ground through the underhood convenience lamp and switch assembly. In the event that the hood is inadvertently left open, the BCM will energize the MONITORED LD Micro Relay #43 for approximately 15 minutes then de-energize the relay. This function is used to help prevent the battery from losing voltage over a period of time in the case of a load being left ON. The underhood convenience lamp is grounded by CKT 150 through Splice Pack #100 to G102.

I/P and Rear Compartment Courtesy Lamps

Courtesy lamp operation is controlled through the CTSY LP MicroRelay #42 by the Body Control Module (BCM). Battery voltage is supplied to the relay coil and switch by circuit 1240 through the C/LADL Mini Fuse® #29. When the BCM receives a courtesy lamp on request the CTSY LP MicroRelay #42 control circuit 690 is grounded through the BCM energizing the relay coil. When the relay coil is energized the relay switch is drawn closed and battery voltage is supplied to the courtesy lamps through the courtesy lamp feed circuit 740. Each courtesy lamp is grounded through circuit 150 to splice pack grounds.

Inside Rearview Mirror Courtesy Lamps

Inside rearview mirror courtesy lamp operation is controlled through the CTSY LP MicroRelay #42 by the Body Control Module (BCM). When the relay coil is energized the relay switch is drawn closed and battery voltage is supplied to the reading lamps switches through the courtesy lamp feed circuit 740. The courtesy lamp and the reading lamp functions use the same light bulbs therefore courtesy lamp operation may occur only when the reading lamp switches are turned off. The inside rearview mirror lamps are grounded through circuit 150 to the splice pack ground 202.
