DEFINITION: The wiper motor continues to run, or does not PARK after the wiper switch is turned to the OFF position.

Did you review the Wiper Washer System Circuit Description and perform the necessary inspections?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Turn the wiper switch OFF.
  3. Disconnect the windshield wiper/washer switch pigtail connector C219.

Do the windshild wipers stop and park?

Replace the windshield wiper/washer switch. Refer to Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Test and repair the following circuits for a short to voltage between the windshield wiper/washer switch connector C219 and the windshield wiper motor connector:

    • circuit 91
    • circuit 92
    • circuit 95

Replace the windshield wiper motor assembly. Refer to Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement .
