Wipers Delay Mode Inoperative

Did you review the Wiper Washer System Circuit Description and perforn the necessary inspections?

  1. Disconnect the windshield wiper/washer switch pigtail connector C219.
  2. Set the windshield wiper/washer switch lever to the INT position.
  3. Measure the resistance through the windshield wiper/washer switch from the connector terminals C to B.

Is the resistance within the specified values?

23-25K ohms

Go to Step 3

  1. With the windshield wiper/washer switch lever in the INT position.
  2. Measure the resistance through the windshield wiper/washer switch from the connector terminals C to A.
  3. Turn the INT ADJ band through the following 5 positions:
  4. • position 1 (39K ohms)
    • position 2 (82K ohms)
    • position 3 (150K ohms)
    • position 4 (270K ohms)
    • position 5 (680K ohms)

Are the resistance measurements at or near the values listed?

Replace the windshield wiper/washer switch. Refer to Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Test and repair the the following circuits for an open or high resistance between the windshield wiper/washer switch connector C219 and the windshield wiper motor connector:

    • circuit 91
    • circuit 95

Did you find and correct the condition?

Replace the wiper motor assembly. Refer to Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
