km/h and MPH Indicator Inoperative

Did you perform the IPC Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Select IPC display DTC function on the scan tool.

Does the scan tool display DTC B1532?

Go to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Instrument Cluster/Driver Information System

Go to Step 3

Press and release the E/M button on the RH DIC switch to toggle between English and Metric display.

Does the km/h and MPH indicator turn ON and OFF?

--

System OK

Go to Step 4

With a scan tool, select IPC special functions and command the km/h and MPH indicator ON and OFF.

Does the km/h and MPH indicator turn ON and OFF with each command?

Test the signal and ground circuit of the RH DIC switch 5 (E/M 5) for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs

Did you find and correct the condition?

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the IPC. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the RH DIC switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs

Replace the RH DIC switch assembly. Refer to Driver Information Display Switch Replacement .

Inspect the km/h and mph bulb for and open. Refer to Instrument Cluster Indicator Lamp Replacement .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Replace the IPC. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
