Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Remove the RH front wheel and tire assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  4. Remove the wheelhouse filler panel. Refer to Wheelhouse Filler Replacement in Body Front End.
  5. Remove the screws retaining the electronic throttle control module to the PCM bracket.
  6. Remove the electrical connectors from the module.
  7. Remove the module from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 95554 Size: SH
  1. Connect the electrical connectors to the electronic throttle control module.
  2. Align the hole in the rear mounting tab of the electronic throttle control module to the corresponding hole in the PCM bracket.
  3. For greater clearance to install the rear retaining screw, position the throttle module housing below the rear mounting tab.

  4. Install the throttle module rear retaining screw.
  5. Align the front mounting holes of the module.
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the module front retaining screws.
  8. Tighten
Tighten the electronic throttle control module retaining screws to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).

  9. Install the wheelhouse filler panel. Refer to Wheelhouse Filler Replacement in Body Front End.
  10. Install the front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12. Connect the negative battery cable.
  13. Tighten
Tighten the negative battery cable bolt to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  14. Program the Transmitters. Refer to Transmitter Programming/Synchronization in Keyless Entry.
