2

  1. Using the scan tool select the BCM input display.
  2. Observe the driver door ajar switch status.
  3. Open and close the drivers door.

Does the scan tool indicate the switch status open and closed?

--

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 6

3

  1. Observe the passenger door ajar switch status.
  2. Open and close the passenger door.

Does the scan tool indicate the switch status open and closed?

--

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 7

4

Observe the Ignition 1, Ignition 2, and Ignition 3 input status. The status of each input display should be ON during the following conditions:

    • Ignition 1-ignition on, bulb test, and start.
    • Ignition 2-ignition on, and accessory.
    • Ignition 3-ignition on.

Does the scan tool display Ignition 1, 2, and 3 ON during the conditions listed, and OFF during any other condition?

--

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 12

5

  1. Observe the Key In Ignition, and Key Out of Ignition input status.
  2. Remove and reinsert the key to the ignition switch.

Do both input displays indicate Active and Inactive in correct relation to the actual condition?

--

Go to Step 17

Go to Step 13

6

  1. Disconnect the LDCM connector C1.
  2. Disconnect the BCM connector C2.
  3. Connect a DMM from the BCM connector C2 terminal C2 to ground.
  4. Measure the resistance to ground of circuit 745 during the following conditions:
  5. • Driver door closed.
    • Driver door open.

Is the resistance infinite with the door closed and near 0 ohms with the door open?

--

Go to Step 17

Go to Step 8

7

  1. Disconnect the RDCM connector C1.
  2. Disconnect the BCM connector C2.
  3. Connect a DMM from the BCM connector C2 terminal D1 to ground.
  4. Measure the resistance to ground of circuit 746 during the following conditions:
  5. • Passenger door closed.
    • Passenger door open.

Is the resistance infinite with the door closed and near 0 ohms with the door open?
