Were you sent here from the Power Door Systems Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Select RH DCM display DTC function on the scan tool.

Does the scan tool display DTC B2277 as history?

--

Go to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List/Type

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine ON.
  2. Activate the rear defogger.

Does the rear defogger operate?

--

Go to Step 4

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Defogger

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine ON.
  2. Activate the rear defogger.
  3. Wait approximately 5 minutes for the mirrors to heat.

Does the RH mirror heat for approximately 10 minutes?

--

System OK

Go to Step 5

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the RH mirror connector.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine ON.
  4. Connect a test lamp between the RH mirror heater control and ground circuit.
  5. Activate the rear defogger.

Does the test lamp turn ON for approximately 10 minutes?

Test the RH mirror heater control and ground circuits for an open or short. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Replace the RH mirror. Refer to Outside Rearview Mirror Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Replace the RH DCM. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
