  1. Disconnect the LH seat relay center connector C1.
  2. Connect a test light between terminal 3 of the LH seat relay center connector C1 and ground.

Does the test light illuminate?

Is the fuse open?

Repair a short to ground in CKT 1740.

  2. Connect a test light between terminal A of the LH seat relay center connector C3 and ground.

Is the circuit breaker open or overheated?

  1. Disconnect the LH seat relay center connector C2.
  2. Connect the DMM between terminal C of the LH seat relay center connector C2 and ground.
  3. Test CKT 150 for continuity to ground.

Is CKT 150 continuous to ground?

Inspect and repair an open or a high resistance in CKT 150 between the LH seat relay center connector C2 and G205.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Reconnect all connectors back to the LH seat relay center.
  2. Disconnect the LH seat adjuster switch connector.
  3. Connect the DMM between terminal 7 and ground.
  4. Test CKT 1798 for continuity to ground.

Is CKT 1798 continuous to ground?

Replace the LH seat adjuster switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the LH seat relay center connector C1.
  2. Connect the DMM between terminal 7 of the LH seat adjuster switch connector and terminal 8 of the LH seat relay center connector C1.
  3. Test CKT 1798 for continuity.

Is CKT 1798 continuous?

Inspect and repair an open or a high resistance in CKT 1798.

Is CKT 150 continuous to ground?

Inspect and repair an open or a high resistance in CKT 150 between the RH seat relay center connector C2 and G302.

  1. Reconnect all connectors back to the RH seat relay center.
  2. Disconnect the RH seat adjuster switch connector.
  3. Connect the DMM between terminal 7 and ground.
  4. Test CKT 1798 for continuity to ground.

Is CKT 1798 continuous to ground?

Replace the RH seat adjuster switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .

  1. Disconnect the RH seat relay center connector C1.
  2. Connect the DMM between terminal 7 of the RH seat adjuster switch connector and terminal 8 of the RH seat relay center connector C1.
  3. Test CKT 1798 for continuity.

Is CKT 1798 continuous?

  1. Using a scan tool select SCM input display.
  2. Operate the seat adjuster switches while monitoring the corresponding switch status.

Does the scan tool display the switch statuses as ACTIVE and INACTIVE in correct relation to the switch positions?

  1. Disconnect the SCM connector C1.
  2. Connect a DMM between the inoperative switch signal circuit terminal and the return circuit 1798 terminal in the SCM harness connector C1.
  3. Measure resistance through the switch assembly with the inoperative switch depressed.

Is the resistance within specified values?

0-2 ohms

  1. Disconnect the Seat Adjuster Switch Assembly connector.
  2. Test the inoperative switch signal circuit and the return 1798 circuit for an open or high resistance condition.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Replace the Seat Adjuster Switch Assembly. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .

  1. Clear any DTCs which may have set.
  2. Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
