Removal Procedure
- Remove the I/P upper trim
pad. Refer to
Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
- Remove the screws retaining the air distribution duct to the underside
of the upper trim pad.
- Remove the air distribution duct.
- Remove the screws retaining
the passenger air outlet to the underside of the trim pad.
- Remove the air outlet.
Installation Procedure
- Install the air outlet
into position on the upper trim pad.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the screws
retaining the air outlet to the trim pad.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.7 N·m (15 lb in).
- Install the air distribution
duct into position on the upper trim pad.
Insert the duct retaining tabs into the trim pad slots.
- Install the screws retaining the air distribution duct to the
trim pad.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.8 N·m (16 lb in).
- Install the I/P upper trim pad. Refer to
Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gauges and
Console.
