Caution: When you are carrying an undeployed inflator module:
• Do not carry the inflator module by the wires or connector on
the inflator module • Make sure the bag opening points away from you

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

Tighten the passenger knee bolster bracket retaining bolts to 12 N·m
(106 lb in).

Tighten the passenger SIR module retaining nuts to 10 N·m
(89 lb in).

Tighten the passenger SIR bracket mounting bolts to 12 N·m
(106 lb in).
Tighten
Tighten the passenger knee bolster bracket retaining bolts to 12 N·m
(106 lb in).
(Be sure to insert the IP compartment lamp electrical connector down through the opening in the top of the passenger SIR bracket.)
