For 1990-2009 cars only
- Inspect the water pump.
- Rotate the water pump drive pulley.
- Install a NEW water pump gasket. (2).
- Install the water pump (1).
- Install the 5 water pump bolts (3) and tighten to 11 NĀ·m (97 lb in) .
Note:
| ā¢ | Ensure that the engine block surface and water pump surface are clear of old gasket material. |
| ā¢ | Do not immerse the water pump in solvent. The solvent may enter the water pump's permanently lubricated bearings and cause premature bearing failure. |
Note: The water pump drive pulley and impeller should turn straight and smoothly. If the drive pulley wobbles, is noisy, or feels rough when rotating, replace the water pump.
