Removal Procedure
- Install the pin into the park brake pedal. Refer to
Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling
.
- Remove the release handle.

- Remove the left side kick panel. Refer to
Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Remove the front brake cable from the pedal.
- Remove the pedal retaining nuts.
- Remove the pedal from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the pin into the NEW pedal. Refer to
Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling
.
- Install the pedal to
the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the pedal
retaining nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the pedal retaining nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Connect the front brake cable to the pedal.
- Install the release handle. Refer to
Parking Brake Release Handle Assembly Replacement
.
- Install the left side kick panel by snapping into the pillar.

- Remove the pin from the park brake pedal. Refer to
Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Enabling
.
- Move the pedal into the FULL up position.
- Verify that the vehicle will hold position with the brake pedal
depressed.
