Important: 'IPC' dealers are not authorized to utilize this service bulletin.

The following information is not new to the courtesy transportation program and is being re-printed in bulletin form as an aid to dealerships. This information appears in the 2003 GM Service Policies and Procedure Manual. GM of Canada dealers should refer to Home Office Letter 2003-201 for complete details of this program.

Shuttle Allowance

The shuttle allowance has been expanded to two ways for all vehicle brands. Dealers can now submit up to $10 using labor operation Z7911 for a two-way shuttle. Z7910 is still available for a one way trip at $5.00. Providing shuttle service for customers is the preferred transportation alternative and should be considered anytime a warranty service appointment is scheduled or an eligible vehicle is brought in for a warranty repair. The coverage and eligibility requirements are the same as indicated in the GM Service Policies and Procedure Manual, Section 1.4.13.

Excessive Parts Delay

Labor operation Z7907 (Courtesy Transportation Rental Reimbursement) has been created when there is an excessive part delay and the customer has been offered a rental vehicle. This labor operation should be used in place of Z7904-6 when the delay is due to parts not being available from SPO. It should not be used when the parts are available from SPO. The following guidelines must be followed when using Z7907:

â€¢ The dealer has contacted SPAC.
â€¢ The parts delay exceeds three days since SPAC was contacted.
â€¢ All claims will require wholesale authorization and must be H-Routed.
â€¢ Dealers must include the following information in the comments section:
      â€¢ SPAC case number
â€¢ Date the SPAC case was opened
      â€¢ Part number
      â€¢ Number of rental days
â€¢ Z7907 should not be used for GMPP. Continue to use Z7904-6 for GMPP rental reimbursement claims.
â€¢ Dealers should still use Z7901-03 for one, two and three day rentals, even if it is due to a part delay.

Using this labor operation for a parts delay situation as described above will assist in identifying and correcting parts availability or stocking problems.
