Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1639712 Size: SH
  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  3. Disconnect the intake camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector (2).

    4. Object Number: 1625460 Size: SH
  4. Remove the engine harness clip (1) from the evaporative emission (EVAP) purge solenoid bracket, and reposition the harness in order to access the oil cooler.

    5. Object Number: 1631168 Size: SH
  5. Reposition the oil cooler outlet hose clamps at the thermostat housing and oil cooler.
  6. Remove the oil cooler outlet hose from the thermostat housing and oil cooler.

    7. Object Number: 1631170 Size: SH
  7. Reposition the radiator outlet hose clamp (2) at the oil cooler.
  8. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the oil cooler.

    9. Object Number: 1578314 Size: SH
  9. Remove the oil cooler bolts.
  10. Remove the oil cooler.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1578314 Size: SH
  1. Position the oil cooler to the engine block.
  2. Install the oil cooler bolts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).

  3. Install the radiator outlet hose to the oil cooler.
  4. Position the radiator outlet hose clamp (2) at the oil cooler.

    5. Object Number: 1631168 Size: SH
  5. Install the oil cooler outlet hose to the thermostat housing and oil cooler.
  6. Position the oil cooler outlet hose clamps at the thermostat housing and oil cooler.

    7. Object Number: 1625460 Size: SH
  7. Position the harness, and install the engine harness clip (1) to the EVAP purge solenoid bracket.

    8. Object Number: 1639712 Size: SH
  8. Connect the intake camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector (2).
  9. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  10. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
