Preliminary Procedure

  1. Remove the HVAC module. Refer to HVAC Module Assembly Replacement .
  2. Remove the HVAC module wiring harness from the HVAC module.

Heater and A/C Evaporator Tube Seal

A/C Evaporator Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) Bolts (Qty: 2)

Tighten
7 N·m (62 lb in)

A/C Evaporator Thermal Expansion Valve Assembly

Sealing Washer

Remove and discard sealing washers. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement .

Cover Assembly Screw - Heater (Qty: 12)

Tighten
1.5 N·m (13 lb in)

Heater Cover Assembly

Tip

  1. Remove the heater core cover heat stakes using a small chisel.
  2. Install new screws in the heater core cover.
  3. Screw holes are adjacent to the heat stakes.

Tighten
1.5 N·m (13 lb in)

Tighten
2.4 N·m (21 lb in)

Remove the heater core cover heat stakes using a small chisel.

Air Inlet Valve Actuator Assembly

Tip
Unsnap the actuator assembly from the A/C evaporator and blower case - upper.

Actuator Assembly Screws - Temperature Valve (Qty: 2)

Tighten
1.5 N·m (13 lb in)
