The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
The customer may comment that the operation of the rear reading lights/dome light operates different from the owners manual description.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Changes are being made to the owners manual. The revised information is below.
The two reading lights in the dome lamp operate independently of the doors. Push on / push off.* The Dome Lamp itself has the switch (on/door/off)
In the On position, the dome lamp comes on.*
In the Door position, the dome lamps comes on when a door is open.*
In the Off position, the dome lamp stays off.
* The lamp on-time is subject to battery run-down protection, which will turn the lights off after a set period of time if the key is off.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
