The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
On rare occasions, incorrect remote start operation may be noticed shortly after the ECM is replaced for an unrelated concern. If encountered, the vehicle will start correctly using the remote start function but the engine will stall once the ignition is turned on. When diagnosing this concern, a DTC P1630 will be stored in the ECM. Typically, this concern is the result of installing an incorrect ECM, such as part number 12589998.
Recommendation/Instructions:
If this concern is encountered, ensure that the correct ECM part number was installed when the previous repairs were performed.
At this time, the correct ECM part number is 12599714.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
