Subject:Possible Intermittent No Crank

Models:2006 Chevrolet HHR

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

The customer might comment about a possible intermittent no crank. You might also notice the Tech 2 will lose communication with the TCM (if equipped) and the PCM also. This could possibly store codes U2103, and/or U2105.

Recommendation/Instructions:

It has been reported that G103 (Document ID # 1657628) has been the leading cause to this issue. This ground is on a painted stud that can cause a poor ground path. Please remove the ground wire from the stud, remove the paint from the stud, and reinstall the terminal back onto the newly cleaned stud.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
