Did you perform the Body Rear End Diagnostic System Check?

1. Install a scan tool.
2. Turn the ignition ON with the engine OFF.
3. Monitor the rear compartment occupant sensor lighted disable switch.
4. Wave your hand under the sensor.

Does the lighted disable switch illuminate?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Inspect the rear compartment occupant sensor lens for scratches or obstructions.

Did you find any scratches or obstructions?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Remove the obstructions or clean the rear compartment occupant sensor lens.

Did you correct the condition?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 5

Replace the rear compartment occupant sensor. Refer to rear compartment occupant sensor replacement.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 6
