AM
The range for most Amplitude Modulated (AM) stations is greater than
that for Frequency Modulation (FM), especially at night. The longer range
can cause stations to interfere with each other.
The following conditions also interfere with the AM radio:
Use one of the following actions in order eliminate this noise:
• | Tune to a stronger station. |
FM Stereo
The FM (Frequency Modulation) stereo will produce the best sound. All
of the factory equipped sound systems with a FM stereo radio will switch to
stereo operation whenever an FM stereo broadcast is received. A STEREO
or ST indicator will light on the display. Stereo operation means that
the radio is separating a stereo broadcast back into the original two channels,
called left and right.
The following conditions may interfere with FM reception:
• | The FM signal is out of the range limitation |
| FM signals reach 16-65 km (10-40 miles). |
• | Tall buildings or hills |
• | Interference from other stations |
Use one of the following actions in order eliminate this noise:
• | Turn to a stronger station. |
