Removal Procedure

The fixed antenna is designed to withstand most car washes without damage. The fixed antenna cannot be adjusted up or down. If the mast becomes slightly bent, straighten the mast by hand. Replace the antenna if the antenna is severely bent.

  1. Pull back the carpet in the rear compartment in order to expose the antenna base (3).

  2. Object Number: 278034  Size: SH
  3. Remove the antenna mounting spacer (1) from the base (3).
  4. Remove the mounting screws from the base (3).
  5. Disconnect the antenna lead (2) from the base (3).

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the antenna lead (2) to the base (3).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the mounting screws to the base (3).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  5. Connect the mounting spacer (1) to the base (3).
  6. Reposition the rear compartment carpet.
