The detent or cancelling spring is missing or broken.

Replace the components as necessary.

Inspect, clean and replace the switch as necessary.

The switch is not centered inside the column.

1. Inspect the following components:

•	The switch

•	Verify that the switch is correctly installed.

•	The mounting screw bosses on the lock housing cover.

2. Replace the components as necessary.
