Removal Procedure
- Remove the accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
- Remove the control assembly screws (1).
- Remove the control assembly away from the instrument panel.
- Disconnect the vacuum hose harness connector (1) from the control assembly.
- Disconnect the vacuum harness two hose connector (2) from the control assembly.
- Disconnect the blower motor switch electrical connector (4) from the control assembly.
- Disconnect the rear defroster control electrical connector (3) from the control assembly.
Installation Procedure
- Connect the vacuum hose harness connector (1) to the control assembly.
- Connect the vacuum harness two hose connector (2) to the control assembly. Secure the connector on the tab.
- Connect the blower motor switch electrical connector (4) from the control assembly.
- Connect the rear defroster control electrical connector (3) from the control assembly.
- Install the control assembly to the instrument panel (2).
- Install the control assembly retaining screws (1).
- Install the accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the control assembly screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
