Important: Remove any twists in the seat belt webbing before final assembly.
- Install the front seat belt retractor assembly to the vehicle.
- Insert the top of the retractor into the mounting
slots and pull downward.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the front
seat belt retractor bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the front seat belt retractor bolt to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).
- Install the front seat belt guide clip. Ensure
the unit locks into position.
- Install the front seat
shoulder belt guide track to the vehicle.
- Install the front seat shoulder belt guide track bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).
- Install the center pillar upper trim panel. Refer to
Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Install the front seat shoulder belt guide to
the vehicle.
- Install the front seat shoulder belt guide bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the shoulder belt guide bolts to 42 N·m (31 lb
ft).
- Inspect the front seat shoulder belt guide cover for broken tabs.
Replace the cover if the tabs are broken.
- Install the front seat shoulder belt guide cover.
- Install the center pillar lower trim panel. Refer to
Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement
in
Interior Trim.
- Install the front seat belt anchor bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the front seat anchor bolt to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).
- Inspect the seat belt assembly for proper operation. Refer to
Operational and Functional Checks
