Was a diagnostic system check performed?

 

Go to Step  2

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Place the transaxle in the REVERSE position.
  3. Backprobe the right IP junction block C3 connector with a test lamp between the following points:
  4. • Inoperative LH lamp -the B2 terminal and ground
    • Inoperative RH lamp - the C2 terminal and ground

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step  3

Go to Step  4

  1. Disconnect the inoperative rear lamp assembly connector.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the following points:
  3. • Inoperative left lamp - The C terminal of the lamp assembly connector and ground.
    • Inoperative right lamp - The A terminal of the lamp assembly connector and ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step  5

Go to Step  6

Replace the right IP junction block. Refer to Underhood Fuse Block Replacement in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

--

Connect a test lamp between the following points:

    • Inoperative left lamp - The C terminal and the E terminal of the lamp assembly connector
    • Inoperative right lamp - The A terminal and the E terminal of the lamp assembly connector

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step  7

Go to Step  8

Repair the open in CKT 24 between the right IP junction block and the inoperative rear lamp assembly. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

--

Replace the inoperative rear lamp assembly. Refer to Tail Lamp Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

--

8

Repair the open in one of the following circuits between the inoperative rear lamp assembly and ground:

    • Left rear lamp - CKT 750
    • Right rear lamp -CKT 850

Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?
