Was the lighting systems diagnostic system check performed?

  1. Disconnect the rearview mirror lamps/switch connector.
  2. Use a testlamp connected to a good ground in order to test for battery positive voltage at terminal C of the connector.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 3

Use a testlamp connected to battery positive voltage in order to test for ground at terminal B of the mirror lamps/switch connector.

Does the testlamp illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 7

Inspect for poor connections at the mirror lamps/switch connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Was a condition found and corrected?

System OK

Go to Step 5

Replace the rearview mirror/reading lamps assembly. Refer to Inside Rearview Mirror Replacement in Stationary Windows.

Did you complete the repair?

Repair the open in CKT 1732 between the mirror lamps/switch connector and the left IP junction block. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in the ground circuit 750. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
